There is less than a month to go before we meet our 2015 Chinese New Year (CNY) which dated 19 February. Before I start my sharing, I would like to wish everyone here early 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' which means 'have a happy and prosperous New Year!' ^_^
There are some few things that we should highlight during CNY about what we can do and we can't. It's very common to wish everyone that you meet during CNY by saying Gong Xi Fa Cai as it also a 'must' for us to do so. Most of our grandparents believe that wearing articles of red clothing may bring lucks because red symbolized luck. Besides that, buying new trousers for CNY because trousers is 'Fu' (Wealth). Visiting family or relative is very usual things that we will do during CNY as we may pass our wishes on good fortune for the new year. Normally by wishing those older than us, we will receive red packets (Ang Pau) which may full of money but only if you are a kid and single people. If you are the one who will give red packets, give two to each child as happiness comes in two's and do not just give one. This is the way that you show on passing good luck to the next generation. Some of the business owners also give red packets to their employees and associates to show their good intention and it may motivate their workers as well.
Now we going to talk about things that we cannot do. We knew that black and white colours are the traditional colours of mourning. So try to not wearing these two colours clothing during CNY. During the first three days of the New Year, don't wash your hair as the Chinese word for hair is a homonym for the Chinese word for weath. Therefore, Chinese believe that it isn;t a good thing to wash away your wealth right at the start of the year. On the first day of New Year, take note that floors cannot be swept and garbage cannot be disposed as believes that it may casting riches out the door. Besides that, don't swear or quarrel with others as it may make luck 'run away' from you. When you wash the dishes, always be careful that don't break any dishes, otherwise you may incur more misfortune for the New Year. If unfortunately you break the dishes, quickly say 'Peace for all time', and the bad luck will be warded away. And remember that don't greet people who are in mourning and don't say the number 'four' (Chinese homonym for death) or mention death.
Before i end my sharing, I would like to share another good things here. We knew that most of us will buy cloths to wear for incoming CNY now and so do i (Haha!!!).
